Paypal gateway
« on: 10/August/2008, 04:05:24 AM »
I am unsure if the answer I am looking for lies with the nbill and the way the paypal gateway is implemented or if it's Paypal themselves.

At present, I am being told that some registered users are unable to take up subscription because they are unable to use the funds in their paypal accounts, because when arriving at the Paypal landing page, it asks them for payment by credit or debit cards.

To most people this is not an issue, but I can understand when it was explained to me that " a person has ample funds in their paypal account which can be used before making payment via their cards"

Is this normal with nbill when using the paypal gateway or is this a paypal issue in which I need to refer the users to Paypal?

Thanks.

You must have either a Premier or Business Paypal account to take subscriptions. As long as the payment frequency set on your order form is a recurring one, Paypal should offer the user a login box or the opportunity to create a new Paypal account. Credit card information is captured during the sign-up process. You can see what the process flow should look like here: https://www.paypal.com/en_US/ebook/subscriptions/howitworks.html#1031828.

We've had a business account with paypal for about 2 years now, and it's the first time that we have encountered this type of enquiry from one of our members.

I have since checked with some other members to our site, and it appears that they are able to log into their accounts and use their paypal balance. Therefore, the enquiry raised must need dealing with by paypal and the user concerned, and is not one to do with nBill.

Thank you for answering my post so quickly, it's much appreciated.
