Invoices sent automatically

I have noticed that when I create an invoice from a quote, an email and invoice is automatically sent to the client.  Is there a setting to change this behavior?  I would like to create an invoice without it being sent, unless I click on 'send'.

Each client can set their own preferences on their profile. As an administrator, you can of course override the email invoice preferences for a particular client by editing the client record. You can also set the default value for that setting on the global configuration page, and if you don't want clients to be able to override it, you can unpublish the relevant profile field.

If I have the setting "Don't email invoices" selected in the global configuration, am I still able to email the invoice manually?

Yes, you can click the envelope icon on the invoice list to send any invoice manually regardless of the client preferences.
