Browser crash after trying to reorder profile fields
« on: 04/April/2012, 08:12:17 AM »
Probably reported elsewhere, but wanted to indicate how serious this issue is.
in both firefox and iE8 the browsers go down when clicking on the change posi arrows in the profile field manager. Both browsers have to be restarted after forced ending using the process monitor ( windows platform )
At present there is no option to re-order the fields which I would think is a fairly urgent bug to fix.

The version is the current one that I am 30 day trialing prior to purchase. on the joomla 2.5 platform
if I can assist in any way let me know as this product is excellent and worth supporting

Nobody else has reported this problem, and I am unable to reproduce it. Have you tried re-ordering the fields on the demo site? (http://www.nbill.co.uk/demo/component/nbill/index.php?option=com_nbill&tmpl=component&nbill_admin_via_fe=1&Itemid=466 - login with username admin, password demo). When I tried, it worked fine. If the problem only exists on your own website, please submit a support ticket as I would need access to your site to investigate.

I did a forum search before posting the topic and maybe this link is relevant.
http://www.nbill.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic,1851.0.html
also I have taken a print screen fo the error message that pops up regarding script not responding.
The problem is fairly solid and consistant yet on a couple of tries it wasn't present.
your demo works fine... on all browsers...
It is possible that my PC may be having issues with your script?
I did notice however that it functions ok using safari on an IPAD 2. Which is puzzling.
So I have a way to change the profile field order using my Ipad but not my desktop.
I will send a support ticket with log on admin credos for you to try.

Thank you, I found the problem. The quick fix is to set the number of records per page to a defined number (eg. 100) - if you select 'all', it tries to loop through 2 million elements instead of limiting it to the number of items in the list! I will fix it for the next release.
