Applying discounts to a specific user group

I have 2 user groups; "paid members" and "trial members"... Is it possible to apply a discount to a product when the user is logged in as a "paid member" without using the Prerequisite Products criteria?

No, at the moment the only way would be to use a prerequisite product.
