layout issues with adminpraise template
« on: 11/August/2009, 02:54:18 PM »
Hi

Just a heads up - more so for v2 than to fix for v1 but  we've recently installed joomlapraise.com's "adminpraise" admin template for joomla 1.5 which i think has many fewer tables controlling the layout and more div's than the khepri standard one. This has resulted in some of the admin screens in nbill overrunning the visible screen and disappearing off the edge of the screen. I havent seen this issue with other components so assume its more an nbill issue than an adminpraise issue. will happily do some screenshots for you if it will help you isolate areas to look at.

Hope v2 is going ok?

All the best

Tony

nBill does contain some rather wide admin screens, but obviously I cannot test it on every template out there. Does the problem occur with the alpha release of nBill 2 on that template?

Russell

Ive just got adminpraise2 installed on the development area along with v2 alpha - however the main area i saw the issue was on the new invoice screen but when i choose the new invoice option on v2 alpha it loses the entire template, css etc and just shows the content (this isnt an adminpriase issue as this was happening before ap2 was installed)

Ive reviewed the 1.29 system and it seems the invoice editing/creating is the main issue. The "new order" screen which i feel is similar in size actually stays within the boundaries ok.

Ive attached part of a screen shot to show you how things run off the end. If you can get a new alpha release with a working "new" button I'm happy to re-test.

I'm wondering whether both problems might be caused by your HTML editor. Which HTML editor are you using? Do you have the same problem if you use nBill 2 with legacy mode turned off?

Hi

Well spotted in terms of the css and template barf - i bought xhtmlsuite last year for our live site (although now dont use as their latest version appeared to be a downgrade not an upgrade imho) however because i copied everything over to my devl area, that came across as well and its licenced per domain so it was barfing which made your bit go belly up - sorry about that.

Ive just changed it to JoomlaFCK and the page no longer goes belly up, but (i think) because i cant run the conversion (as per my v2 beta email) i cant get access to half my test data - products option has products listed but dont have any categories in the drop down box and when  i click onto the new invoice it stops just after the nBill(c): New Invoice heading at the top with no further output - my guess is that it hasnt created contact records and done the rest of pull over from v1 to v2 so its a kind of half and half system?

[addition] Ive switched off legacy mode and the invoice screen does now show in full but client details are not being listed in the dropdown, billing country dropdown is empty, SKU selection is showing categories but no products etc etc so i think i best leave things until there is an alpha 2 where the transfer of data works ok - however in reply to your original question, the issue still seems to be around in v2 with regard to it overrunning the area of the template rather than wrapping when it hits the end but its now only overrunning by a few pixels so isnt much of an issue in v2 from the look of it - see attached [end of addition]

You could clear down all the data (using the clear button on the global config page) to start with a clean slate and test on that. With only part of the data migrated, it could lead to various problems. I will fix the migration issue though and issue a new alpha, maybe next week (depending on workload and stuff).

Turn off the side bar and your problem will go away...

Hello,

this thread has been inactive for some time, but issues seem to re-appear.

Working with J! 1.5.26, nbill 2.3.2 and AdminPraise3 Template (latest version), I noticed some styling issues of buttons/submenus, that partly makes working difficult and tricky.

Issues appear while viewing the dashboard (shifted submenus), lists of orders, invoices etc. (buttons edit, delete etc. are switched to vertical thus overlaying inline buttons in the list) and in the upload window of nbill_supporting_docs (buttons vertical, content partly hidden).

Tried some php/css changes already, but didn't really find the place where it happens.

Any ideas for a workaround or styling hints?

Regards

I would need to be able to test it, but I'm not inclined to buy AP3 just for that when I don't need it myself - if you can submit a support ticket to the pre-sales category and give me access to your site, I will look into the styling issues.

Thank you, but...

the more I get into it, the clearer becomes to me that this is an AP3 integration issue - not nBill's fault.
So I'd better post over there and watch.
