Credit Card Set up

I am attempting to add Authorize.net option to my site. I have the plugin installed and working OK. I  have read many forum posts but am unclear on how to do this. Ideally I would like them to select whether to use Credit Card or Paypal. I have a drop down box for this with two slections. If they chooser credit card, then they must fill in details on site (ie name, number expiration date). Then they hit Submit/Pay and never leave site. If they choose paypal, hit submit/pay go to paypal. I am confused about how to set up CC form. I can't find any documentation on it. Do i just make text boxes for them to fill in the CC number etc? How is this info passed to Authnet to check and verify. Any help is appreciated.

To use authorize.net you need to make sure you have an SSL certificate installed on your site. The auth.net gateway includes a page for capturing the card details so you don't need to add any fields to your form - they will be shown automatically after the form is submitted.
