I have just added a new client. Next step is to create a new order for this client. Unfortunately this client can not be selected from the pulldown in the order create screen.

Is that because you have more than 500 clients? If so, you can go to the client in the client list and click on the 'new order' icon next to the client concerned. Alternatively, you can click on the 'show all' button on the order editor to fully populate the client list.
