nBill 1.2.9 and JACLPLUS 1.5.7 and Joomla 1.5.8

Hello,

I suddenly was confronted with a the fact that when an order is created the access level of a user is not set to Silver Member. It is set as (stays on) Registrated.
It used to work fine and as far as I know of the only thing that has changed in the meantime is an upgrade to nBill 1.2.9. I did the upgrade to nBill 1.2.9 at 6-7-2009 and orders after that seems to have the problem. I also made two test orders (online and offline payment) and they had the same problem).

Any ideas what causes this and how it can be solved?

Kind regards,
Marcel

Do you have the latest version of the user subscription plugin installed AND published? Have the users concerned tried logging in (the group is not updated until after they have logged for the first time after purchase)

Btw, you ought to upgrade Joomla, as there are a number of security vulnerabilities in 1.5.8.

Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply and to attend me on the joomla upgrade. I know about it and hope to upgrade soon.
I also upgraded the nBill plugin.

Indeed after the first log in the access level was set right. However when you login the first time you can't access the part of the site that you paid for because thew access level is not right yet. So as a customer you get confused and think how do I get access, I just payed for it! They don't know that they first have to logout and then login again to get access. So is this as it should be? As far as I remember it wasn't like this. You pay, log in and had directly access according to the appropriate access level.

Can you tell me more about this?

Kind regards,
Marcel

The user should not need to log out then log in again, however, when the user logs in, they must visit a page that runs the system plugins before their record can be upgraded. Any normal Joomla content item will run the system plugins, and any page within the nBill component will also run them, but if you have it set up to redirect to another component as soon as they login, this might not run the plugin.

Hello,

When they login they are not redirected to a component. In the login module nothing has been changed.
to confirm: the plugin is version 1.8 now, activated and set after the legacy plugin.

Any more ideas?

Kind regards,
Marcel

I just tried it out on my test site, and it seemed to work fine - the user was given the appropriate group access as soon as they visited a page on the website after being logged in (regardless of whether or not they were already logged in). If that is not happening on your site, there must be something specific with your site that is causing it, so I would need administrator access to it to investigate further - so please raise a support ticket.
