Finally, the long-awaited version 1.1.2 is now available as a BETA release. Whilst it is in the BETA stage, no automatic upgrade is available - so if you want to upgrade from 1.1.1 SP5, you will need to uninstall and re-install (this should upgrade your database without losing your data). However,
please do not use this version on a live website, and make sure you backup anything important first. This is for testing and evaluation purposes only. If you need a new free trial key and the system refuses to give you one (eg. because you already had one before), just contact us and we'll send you one.
This version has been adapted a little so that it will run on Mambo 4.6.2 as well as Joomla 1.0.x. However, the installation procedure for the 2 systems has diverged a bit, so there are 2 separate installation packages (the actual component files are identical in both though). The component has not been tested in Mambo beyond basic installation and display of the back-end screens.
New features in version 1.1.2:
- New filters on income and expenditure (eg. to find a particular amount)
- New security images (CAPTCHA) support for order forms
- If you have J!Whois installed, you can now add a domain name lookup field to your order forms
- Orders can now be renewed if they have expired or if 'auto renew' has been set to false (also, new order values are supplied to allow auto renew and expiry to be specified on an order form).
- New reminders feature - send reminders for overdue invoices, subscription renewals, order expiry, or ad-hoc (requires setting up a CRON job - documentation will be updated with details soon, but you need to download the reminder sender script and run it once a day using CRON or similar)
- Invoices now contain a link to enable payment (link is suppressed when invoice is printed out on paper)
- When you edit an order you are now offered a link which will re-instate the payment schedule (eg. if Paypal cancel the subscription and you want to set it up again, you can just e-mail the link provided to the client)
- For most screens that require the user to be logged in (eg. to pay an invoice), if the user goes to the page and is not logged in, they will be prompted to log in, then redirected straight to the page they originally requested.
- Invoices are marked as paid BEFORE being sent to the client (if applicable)
- Extra Joom!Fish entries added for country cross-reference tables
- Bug fix in priority/quantity values in product discount assignments
- All icons replaced with proprietary ones (instead of pulling in the ones used by Joomla)
- Option to send downloadable products to client by e-mail automatically when the order is created
- If contact name changes on client profile, user record is also updated
- Payment gateway simplification - makes it easier to develop new gateways (new gateway packages will be available soon - SECPay gateway has been updated to use a javascript redirect (for a cleaner user experience), and to optionally automatically set the order expiry date according to the card expiry)
- Database backup dumps are now done without backward compatibility (to prevent loss of auto_increment numbers in some buggy versions of mySQL)
- Fix problem with Euro symbol on form field option labels
- Discounts are now recorded against the order record, and cannot be deleted if they are in use (also warns you if you try to change them)
- Fixed problem on summary screen where display value not defined for discounts
- Allow user to change their username on the profile screen
- Order forms now support file upload, with optional restrictions on file size and type, and option to e-mail the files to the administrator
- Over 50 new 'events' are available for you to plug in your own code when the event is fired - check the read_me.txt files in the folders in /administrator/components/com_netinvoice/events/
- Fixed problem with editing root category
- Fixed problem with payment frequency threshold on invoice payment links
