hi,

when trying to upgrade to 1.27 I get this error:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /administrator/index2.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Of course, I do have permission -- what am I doing wrong?

Thanks
Linda

It looks like maybe a security rule in your .htaccess file is interfering. Alternatively it could be mod_security, but that usually spits out a 406 error rather than forbidden. I suggest you ask your hosting company for assistance.

I too am getting the same error when trying to run the upgrade. In addition I am recieving an email from your component telling about the error. This is not a server issue. This is something going on when you click the upgrade button. I have made sure that folder permissions in both the admin and components folders are set to 777 and for all sub folders and files. I am getting an email from the  component as well with some pretty detailed error stuff if you want to see it. I cant paste it below because it is too large. If you will provide me an email address i will forward the emails to you.

I applied the patch file and it upgraded fine in that way.

It is not a server issue for me, either, as I have Joomla installed on 3 other sites on the same server (my own dedicated server), using the same .htaccess file info on all 3 sites.

nBill is not capable of producing a forbidden error itself - that error comes from the web server software. So there is a conflict between the server configuration and what nBill is trying to do (which is basically just overwrite its own files). That's not to say there is an error in the server configuration, just that there is a conflict between the two (but that being the case, if you want to use that feature of nBill, and your server configuration does not allow it, you would need to change your server configuration - or in this case just use an alternative method of upgrading).

If you send the error report to support@nbill.co.uk though, I will see if it sheds any further light on it.
