I am on a project which will most likely will use nbill for the management of subscriptions. We are happy with the solution although some issues are still open. The only thing which I worry about is performance. While Joomla works just fine on my development computer, when it comes to nbill pages the harddisk is really active and every function needs about 5s.

That's odd - it must be the ionCube loader slowing it down (it runs just as fast as everything else for me, but obviously I have the unencrypted source code). If you are using runtime loading, you could try installing the loader in php.ini instead (that is supposed to give a performance improvement). Also, might be worth turning off the version check on your development machine - but that will only affect the nBill admin home page.

I'm stumped then - is anyone else out there having problems with performance?

I haven't noticed anything different on our end, and we don't have it in php.ini .  Runs just like every other component.
