nBill - The Billing System for Joomla!

nBill is a component for the Joomla Content Management System. Joomla is a free open source web application which can be used to manage the content of your website. nBill is a commercial component (not open source) which adds further functionality to Joomla to enable you to manage financial transactions, orders, quotes, and invoicing for your business, and to offer products and services for sale online using order forms that you can build yourself.

At present, there is no standalone version of nBill available - you have to have Joomla already installed. A standalone version is planned for the future. To set up your own Joomla website, see www.netshinehosting.com.

You do not have to sell products online to make use of nBill – it can be used to record transactions of offline sales and subscriptions as well as for e-commerce. It is especially useful for subscriptions or recurring payments for which invoices need to be generated on a regular basis.

The core product allows for e-commerce using order forms, but there is also an extension called 'nCart' which allows for a more traditional shopping cart interface. nBill also supports allowing potential clients to request a quote, for you to provide a quote online, and the client to accept, part accept, or reject the quote online. You can take payment in full, a deposit plus final payment, installments, or ongoing recurring payments, or even just allow the client to choose how much to pay and when.

nBill allows you to send reminders, offer discounts (with or without voucher codes), define setup fees, offer free trials, handle partial payments, and much more. Order forms can be defined using a drag and drop interface, allowing great flexibility and intuitive ease of use. I have tried to make everything as intuitive as possible, with helpful comments provided next to most settings so you can see how it works without having to read through large quantities of documentation. There is still a comprehensive help file though, with tips, 'how tos', and troubleshooting.

For PHP developers, nBill also allows for custom code to be added in various places and event folders allow you to trigger your own PHP scripts whenever a certain event occurs.
